I did a top 15 for this year. Here it is. I'd be curious to hear what everyone else's top albums for this year are.

15. Birds of Prey - Weght of the Wound
14. Cactus - V
13. Gov't Mule - High and Mighty
12. Against Nature - Ghosting
11. Dixie Witch - Smoke and Mirrors
10. Isis - In the Absence of Truth
09. Mastodon - Blood Mountain
08. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Stadium Arcadium
07. Slayer - Christ Illusion
06. Place of Skulls - The Black is Never Far
05. Kalas - Kalas
04. Mirror of Deception - Shards
03. Magnolia Electric Co. - Fading Trails
02. Ogre - Seven Hells
01. Pentagram - First Daze Here Too

My recollection is that Bedemon came out in late '05 so I'm considering it to be disqualified for this year. Had it qualified it would have come in no lower than second and may have been the top album of the year for me.

Let me preface this by saying that when I think of top albums, I don't really consider demos and EPs, reissues, live albums, or collections. That said there were alot of great EPs etc.
Lamp of Thoth
Iron Man
Atlantean Kodex
Argus
Totem
Serpentcult
Dwell Within, and I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting. Probably enough to make another great top 10 list.

1-Reverend Bizarre-So Long Suckers
2-Slough Feg-Hardworlder
3-Pale Divine-Cemetary Earth
4-Witchcraft-The Alchemist
5-Electric Wizard-Witchcult Today
6-Minotauri-II
7-Hour of 13-S/T
8-Against Nature-The Anxiety of Influence
9-Centurions Ghost-The Great Work
10-The Hidden Hand-The Resurrection of Whiskey Foote

alot of great stuff I've left off (Down, Sheavy, High on Fire, Entombed, Trouble, Voodooshock etc.) and alot of stuff I haven't bought yet,(Doomsword, Darkthrone, Blue Cheer,Twisted Tower Dire).

Albums that impressed me in 2007 are Dinosaur Jr. "Beyond", PJ Harvey "White chalk", Serj Tankian "Elect the dead", Abigor "Fractal Possession" and Profanatica "Profanatitas de Domonatia".
"Witchcult today" is great again but that wasn't a surprise.

Seamount put out a free debut, it's pretty damn good. Singer is also in Hour of 13, another great recent debut.

Mammatus' Coast Explodes is really good if you're into instrumental stoner.

Pagan Altar's Mythical and Magical got over looked a lot. I can't believe it's been so long since it came out, 07.

What's been good in classic metal/doom since then?
