The past two years have been spent recording the vocals and then mixing, fixing, tweaking and re-mixing until things were just right to everyone's satisfaction. A common reaction from the lucky few who have heard the final unmastered mix - and then sadly had to be executed - is, "Wow, that sounds like something from the 70s...", which really couldn't be a higher compliment. Another comment was, "This sounds like how PENTAGRAM might've sounded in the late 70's if they'd stayed together."

This is really high praise considering how good Pentagram and Bedemon were in the 70s. First Daze Here is one of my favourite releases of the style, even over bands that had producers and were able to record a cohesive work. The fact other classic unknowns like Pagan Altar have managed to return and sound great after 30 years gives me a lot of hope.

I have never met anyone from the band besides Bobby at a show that I know he wouldn't remember. Geoff seems really energized from what I can tell based off this website and forum.

Any new details about song titles, album title or cover art? Will this be available on vinyl and CD? How about Cassette?

I want to go hype this album around message boards and blogs and I think anyone who would be reading this post should want to as well.

Let us have some information!!!

Thanks for the comments! We have a rough version of the cover art and are waiting for the artist to tweak some things and provide us with a final version. We have just — literally in the past four days — gotten the complete mastered album from the person who did the mastering, so now it's time to pick some sample tracks and hit the labels. The music biz currently being what it is and isn't, it's too bad this wasn't finished about three or four years ago, but hopefully there are still fans who will support both Randy's memory and all the work that went into it by purchasing it. As to formats, that will really be up to the label. Obviously we want CDs and vinyl LPs, and presumably downloads; cassettes aren't likely. We're keeping the title under wraps for the moment, but some of the song titles include "Lord of Desolation," "The Plague," "Hopeless" and "Kill You Now." Lots of cheery stuff, I know...and five of the album's tracks are over seven minutes long.

So, there's some info for you; stay tuned...

Hi Geof. You have mail with some great news. Great to hear the mastering is complete. I know some people who make some fantastic vinyl releases who would be super stoked to put it out there. Great friends of mine who make a superior product and really care about the art. Contact them at Doomentia.com. Tell Lukas that I sent ya! Cheers! Have a GREAT weekend!

Another great label for this might be Shadow Kingdom Records. www.shadowkingdomrecords.com They've put out a number of demo/rehearsal/rarities records by Asylum (Unorthodox), Pale Divine, Reactor (members of Pentagram), The Lord Weird Slough Feg, Genocide (Nippon). They've also put out long lost 70s and 80s albums and new albums by Revelation, Iron Man, Argus, etc. The best doom oriented label going at the moment, in my opinion.

Geof - Do not give up on a casette releases so easily! There is a tiny percentage of the human population that still like casettes. I Buy vinyl, cd's and casettes! There has been a recent "trend" where great albums are getting cassette releases - usually tiny pressings of a hundered or so.. but it would be cool bedemon collectible.

for the record I will get the CD and vinyl when available -

I have the first album on CD and Vinyl - so I will continue the tradition \m/

Well, it's not that we have given up on cassettes; it'll be up to the label.

We are still shopping it. The biz isn't what it was even just a few years ago, with labels folding and getting absorbed by other labels, downloads killing the retail sales etc. and with Bedemon not being a currently-active touring band, this is a rather unique release.

News as it develops...

Thanks for the update Geof.

I recommend Shadow kingdom Records! Great label.

Also - hells head bangers is really good, they focus on Blackend Thrash/Death - but they also release all types of metal.

I would hope Randy's last recordings will sell!

U could also look into High Roller Records in Germany for a Vinyl pressing - they do an awesom job

Hi Geof...Email me! Hope everything is well with you. Why not try Razorback Records? Horror and metal worship over there at the hive and they would make this release the right way!...Being randy was editor of Warrens magazines and Billy at Razorback appreciates all the behind the scenes stuff from those mags, it may be a good match. Not to mention hes a good honest guy and started me on the whole art for bands thing. Cheers,
Eric
